Favorite Type of Character?

I used to be hardcore into warrior/knight types, heavy on melee and heavy armor. All the valorous hero mumbo jumbo. Then I made a mage in World of WarCraft, and it transfered into Oblivion. I love my mage with all my heart. Sure, my health is pathetic, but some of my destruction spells can destroy the enemies easily. I also find it much more fun. With a warrior, you just kinda sit there, block, and swing your weapon. With my mage, I find myself running all around the place trying to avoid damage, trying to line up my fireball shots so they hit based on movement. It just seems that combat with a mage (I'd assume it's the same for any dps caster) is a lot more involved/hectic, i.e. more fun.

I usually go for sneaky ass assassin types, with good magic abilities.

I feel a little bit the same way.

I've pured out my Blade skill up to the point where I actually get bored of looting... IM GETTING BORED OF GETTING MONEY.

Anyway, since I'm a bosmer, my magicka is quite low... I only have 128. The only way you can get it up is by raising your intelligence, which you can only raise when you raise a level.

I'm level 25 and running out of levels to raise. Since my strength and my speed are both maxed out, I've decided to work on my magic from now on.

Magic fighting is fun for me, because you get to make as many spells as you want with as many different types of effects as you want. PLUS with my magic I've managed to put Chameleon 20% on five of my glass armor pieces... do you know what that means... 100% chameleon! That's completely invisible folks! People have a hard time noticing me when I steel the swords from their belts. They don't even know it was me when I take some of their valuables right in front of them. It rawks. (lvl 50 illusion required for chameleon (1 grand soul gem required for 20% chameleon. 5 grand soul gems, lvl 50 illusion))

I love magicks now =X

My character is the sneaky type. Great with bows and arrows, decent with small blade/blunt items, and pretty good with magic.

I've played as a warrior, and pure mage (with high stealth) and I'm about ready to start a new game as a warrior again. I love heavy armour and swords.

First time was pure warrior with block, blade, blunt, heavy armor, armorer, etc. Second time through was assassin/thief with security, sneak, light armor, marksman, and so on. My most recent time through, I sort of combined the two previous ones. Never really got into magic in Oblivion that much except restoration for health and destruction for fireballs. Next time through (yes I will play again) I might have to go mage just for a change.

My mage is Breton, lvl 14 atm. Since he's Breton, and I up my Intellect and Willpower with every level, my mana regens extremely quick. I can heal myself repeatedly without ever running out of mana, not even if I try to. :X

Mine is kinda Battle Mage. Heavy weapons and Heavy Armour and Block. Destruction and Restoration. Also snuck some Security and Acrobatics. Would have liked to have Armourer, but I ran out of room! It is a pretty combo for my style of play.

I prefer not to mix the two main combat types. Because eventually you'll get used to one (melee combat in my case) and stick with it. Then you'll try to force yourself to raise your magics and that just makes it less fun. So right now I have an individual file for all my different types.

Good-Melee
Good-Mage

Bad-Melee
Bad-Mage.

Four different types. And when I mention "good" or "bad" I relate it to the faction its a part of. For example, the Goods have Fighters/ Mages guild, plus the Knights of the Nine. The bads have Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood.
