Clavicus Vile quest

I have gained the Umbra sword in this quest, but when I take it back and hand it over or not, my game just freezes everytime. I have tried to give the sword back, not give it back, fast travel as soon as it says that I have completed the quest, but as soon as I arrive at my destination, the game freezes. Has anyone else experienced this or is this just a problem with my game/machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I were you, I'd just keep the sword. It's a lot better than the reward you get in exchange. Plus, the sword is still considered a "quest" item making it even bettter cuz it's zero-weight.

I was going to keep the sword anyway, but needed to complete the quest so that I could do the last daedric quest, thanks anyway.

try failing the quest somehow, try attacking his followers or something. coz if u failed as long as the completed quests list has clavicus vile in it you should be able to do the last quest Oblivion:Oblivion - UESPWiki do a search on this site

the same happens to me but it happens whenever the game loads so i can't play the game at all

You tried updating to the latest version, I think this bug was fixed in version 1.2
When you load up the game let it update, hopefully that should fix it. If it doesn't I recommend the Honorblade of Chorral, great sword and can be kept weightless like the Umbra Sword.
