The Main problems of OF2....

I have played the OF games since the very first one and I am very disappointed with OF2. Im not gonna sit here and bash the whole game since its not "Terrible" it just has so many let downs (Stick with me) that its a lot like if you had been trapped on an island and were starving for food and when you got rescued they gave you cold french fries and chocolate milk for your meal.... Ya its better then what you had before but what were they thinking?

The game (Like its predecessors) boasts huge landscapes with which to fight...yet whats the point when the objectives (multiplayer) are so close together that there is NO point to go anywhere else... They even put a boundary line. So whats the point in boasting a 221km or whatever map?...Another thing, and this is what really let me down, is that they completely took away one of the only things that made OF unique...VEHICLES! In the single player, how many times did you come across a vehicle that you could drive? Now that you have one or two fingers up I ask you, How many times did you come across or was there a mission where you FLEW a vehicle? In ALL the other OF's there was a wide variety of vehicles to command and in this there is basically nothing.

Even in multiplayer (Which I will get to soon) there is only really one map that allows you to get a taste for the vehicle's. Another problem with the single player was that there was absolutley no story line and if your one of those people that are gonna say "Its more realistic because your suppose to be a front line soldier and you wouldn't know whats going on" then just stop now. I was a "front line soldier" in the 101st Airborne during OIF1 and I knew what was going on lol. It just seems like the developers sat around a table and took all the pieces that made OF unique or creative and said..."Naw I dont want to do that, I'd rather do the least amount possible and put the OF title on it". Now they did keep the "semi- realistic" combat aspects with the bullet drop and Somewhat realistic damage (Besides the shooting some people 6 times in the head from close range and them not noticing *glitches*) or dressing a hit from a .50 cal (How do you field dress a severed limb? lol) BUT the fact that you can't sit at the end of the map and just put your cross hairs on a guy at the other end and hit him in the head is MUCH needed in games today. However, if I wanted a realistic-ish shooting game I would go back to playing Ghost recon....the main thing that set OF appart was that it had vehicles and this installment most certainly falls short. On a side note they said (And showed in the trailer) AH-1 Cobra Gunships....yet...where are they? Exactly.

And yet another problem and one that I feel is most important for letting down online fans is the EXTREME Lack of online maps..There are all of what? 2 maps for both infiltration and annihilation? That's just pathetic. Ya its got COOP but who really cares? I like COOP and all but honestly, COOP on this game is so useless when you think about the fact that the ENTIRE game is set up for COOP. I mean think about it, Infiltration is like a COOP game against the other team, not against AI that follow scripts. But I guess More multiplayer maps was yet another item at their round table of things to slack on.

All in all this game is a great game that needed either more time developing or more people designing it that wanted to actually make a good game and not just enough to get by.

I stopped reading after that. Anyways this game's singleplayer is fine by me but the multiplayer portion just blows goats. I just played co-op with friends and then afterwards sold it on ebay. One of my main concerns (which also concerned another big name blockbuster title): NO DEDICATED SERVERS.
