Orange Box?
Was thinking about buying this game purely for the Half-life 2 episodes, just wondering is it a 'semi-survival' type game? When your low on ammo all the time etc?
Also is their alot of striders to fight? They look really interesting to battle.

your pretty stocked on ammo most of the time, but there are a couple chapters where ammo is pretty precious (ravenholm)
get this game, you will not be dissapointed

I bought HL2 for my computer, played it for about 6 hours and I'm not even half way done. I'm gonna pick this up tomorrow. Definitely a buy.

HL2 has got to be at least 15-20 hours or so, and if you've never played it OMFG YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT! the quality and diversity of environments and gameplay is astounding, and though i haven't played it yet i've heard episode 2 is even better.
episode 1 and 2 are about 5-6 hours each. so there should be a good 25-30 hours of play time, not including TF2 and portal.

I recall at least one big strider fight in HL2 (wasnt there two or three striders?) in a giant complex, it was great.
You should definately get this game, you wont be disappointed at all. Ive beat it a few times on PC yet Im playing it another time on the 360 and its just as fun, its such an amazing game. Plus the episodes all in one package make this a huge bonus, I havent gotten to Ep2 yet (i want to do it in order again, since I havent played HL2 in a while - im going through all three in order to capture the full story, so i probably wont get to Ep2 for a while) but Ep1 was great, I definately loved playing through that a few times, they have a strider fight in a train station in ep1 - its awesome!
Cant wait to see what episode 2 dishes out I can only imagine many strider fights (since theres lots of outdoor areas, and the trailer shows a strider fight).
Simply put; Buy The Orange Box!

In Half-life 2, there are about 7 or 8 total times where you need to take down gunships, and there are two big battles and ecounters with Striders near the last few chapters. And yeah, they're a lot of fun to take down. Half-life 2 is pretty long, ranging at about 12-18 hours. And Episode 1 and 2 are about 4-8 hours long.
As for ammo goes, you''ll always have a lot with pretty much every weapon with the exception of maybe one or two.
And there is sadly only one Strider encounter in Episode 1, which is one of the last things you do. And Episode 2 is by very far the worst out of the three. And Episode two makes up for all of that when you meet Hunters, and Striders together, which you see many times.
Not even to mention one of the great puzzle games of all time, Portal. It's just amazing... there's also Team Fortress 2, which I'm addicted to right now.
