I am very unsure about Ebay these days.
My wife bought me a 360 off there last January for £320 and the fekker was apparently selling 8 he had bought wholesale.
He had none and ran with the money.
Was done via a buying partner (a kid) and so there was no direct way to track him.
We informed the police and nothing happened.

But we had a call a week ago from the cops, they caught the fker and we will see him in court in January (apparently has done loads of these rip-off deals on various sites so he is weeeell screwed).

tachikoma, that really sucks. did the seller have a really good reputation with tons of reviews? if not, don't be unsure of ebay, just be unsure of people without an established good ebay reputation. there are frequent scams on ebay, but usually from new users with very little feedback.

always carefully research the ad and the person selling before buying, unless it's just a small purchase you don't care too much about.

Yeah man I've been using ebay for nigh on 10 years now.
He had over 1000 positives with a Power Seller mark and so all looked fine.
I questioned about this reseller he is working with and he advised had done laods of successful sales with him previously.
This turned out to be true, he had sold loads of tiny items like lightbulbs, door handles and crap like that to build up a rappor to best rip him off.
So it's ok mate, I know how to use ebay but just got stung with a tw*t.

ah... yeah. if i'm gonna buy something expensive on ebay i always check to make sure that they have positive reviews from selling similar expensive items. did you get reimbursed through paypal or anything?

i dont understand why people are scared of buying things of ebay...
if it doesnt work you take it to pay-pal dispute and they say the other person has it send it back for a refund... it happend to me before

We tried to recover the funds via paypal - the seller had no money in their paypal account so they couldn't do anything (god bless paypal, the fking cnuts).
So we went to ebay and they said that as we had already raised a conplaint for compensation via Paypal we couldn't via them (enter same as above here).
So now you know why people are reticent to use them mate, it aint all bloody roses and chocolates sadly, the companies involved are money grabbing b@tards.
