Spys on TF2

Here's another tip: Disguise yourself as a ONE OF YOUR TEAMMATES when first heading to their base. This is for the time when you are leaving your base and they can see you, but you are too far from their base to use cloak the whole way to their base.

You don't want to alert them that a spy is even coming to them, or they will be on the extra paranoid alert and spycheck EVERYONE. On 2fort, the distance crossing the bridge is just too far to use cloak the whole way, so they will see you. So you must disguise yourself so they don't know you are a spy... but if you disguise as the other team and they see you coming to them, they know right away you're a spy because you are headed the wrong way. So disguise yourself as one of your teammates, and then once you are in their base, head to an area where you are alone, and change your disguise to the enemy.

EDIT: Also think about the room you're in, and if the class you're disguised as makes sense in that room. I've seen spies dressed up as snipers going down to the intelligence room in 2fort... a sniper in the intelligence room just makes no sense, so I killed him right away.

Also, use the oppisite sides spy as a disguise. They may think your just undercover when you head for there base, trying to act "Natural"

That wont work, because it wont say Disguised as: under your name, thus giving you away.

and i think the spies looks sorta the same so they shoot at you thinking you are a spy on the other team (which you are infact!).

The sniper trick works, and the only other class i would disguise as is a heavy, so you can lure out the medic and bring him to your team to kill him.

DO NOT disguise as a medic. they wont see an ubercharge meter, and kill you.

actually ive noticed that disguising as an engineer is the best, because players on a team are used to seeing engineers going to and from inside the base.

I agree on the engineer comment. It works for me as well.

Yerr I like the engineer disguise too, but the other teams pesky engineers (if they are worth their salt) will be onto you like a leech.

Nothing satisfies me like backstabbing a Sniper or a big phat Heavy
