TF2 - Spy

I love the idea of the spy class..But I just cant play it! The enemy always seem to tell when I am a spy and I just get wasted all the time.

Do you guys find this? Do any of you pro spy players have some good tips to help us newbies go undetected?

spy tips:
hide.....sprint short distances whilst stealthed, then take cover and wait for the bar to re fil.

once you find a enemy squad, see what classes they are, and disguise yourself as the same class as one of them....if they know they aint got a medic on their team, and you are disguised as one, they will notice you easy.

when disguised, run backwards away from your spawn so it looks like you are falling back.

if your allies use voice comms get them to shoot at you so it looks like you are under fire and the enemy will assume your a friend.

dont run right for a group you want to kill, or a sentry you want to take out.
instead run past it to get a good look and decide what to do.then attack from behind.
its best to attack either ppl on their own, or a group in a heavy battle so they may not notice when guys start to die around them.

if you kill a lone guy, right away disguise as his class..ppl may not have noticed he died.

if you see a engineer working on a sentry, but he has no dispencer, wait!
dont kill him!
wait untill he moves away from the sentry to find metal then kill him.
now disguise as a engineer, walk to the sentry and place a sapper.
then spin around, run around in circles and make it look like your going "omg spy spy spy".

if you manage to get right behind a engineer, and his turret is facing away from you, stab him in the back and quickly change weapon to sapper and put it on the sentry.
if you are fast you can kill the guy and sap the sentry before it can turn and shoot you.

if you just spawned and your team is about to lose, spawn as a spy, then disguise as a enemy soldier.
now when your team loses the enemy will run right past you thinking your on their side.

nice. I just got that game so good to hear. Im slowly getting into this game, i struggle more with levels and game modes tbh. Need to watch those videos. Class game though.
Thing i found with the spy was its no problem sneaking around, its just when it comes to killing, the guns poor and the knife takes a few stabs, think thats right??
Class though.

a stab from above with the spy knife kills instantly.
stab from back is instant kill, stab from side is most often instant kill.
stab from front is maybe 3 to 4 hit kill.

oh right, well i will have another go. Only played 1-2 hours so i'll get the hang of it soon.

Didnt like this game at 1st,
i wasnt used to the Cartoon art etc.

Love it now, play it on pc every night.
If u got pc version, check out Lazytown, great map.

The main thing I like is that its a laugh..constantly I am loling my ass off at some crazy antics going on in this game.

nah 360 version. But i enjoyed what ive played so far.

I have tried on both pc and 360...to be honest it looks better on the pc, but you get tons of pants custom maps and stupid sound effects etc

i just hope ppl get creative with the pc maps and start putting in destructable areas (actually not hard to do as I have made maps based around blowing up everything lol)
