its not just consoles
hl2 episode 2 was about a year and a half late for pc and xbox...day of defeat souce had a lot of bugs and gameplay issues yet it took a year for anything to be done about it..
valve is slow on any platform..but there games and updates are normally very worth it.

Yeah they don't seem to get the more frequent part in the Episodic Content theory, but they update their own games very frequently. TF2 gets updated at least once a month, usually even several times a week. And Day of Defeat isn't made by Valve, it's still in the hands of the DOD team as far as i know, they just joined Valve waay back.

true the founding dod dev team became employed by valve, but no one there has job titles as such, each dev can work on any game they want, they all mix so it is made by valve...however it wasnt overly popular in comparison to original dod and the various CS games..
i remember the first week dods was released, around 20,000 players purchased it, within a week only 3000ish was playing at peak times due to all the bugs, within days everyone posted what was broke in the game and it took 2 years 8 months for them to put up their hands and say ok, its fixed now...and still ppl are not happy LOL!

waiting for ep 2 drove me scatty, your right that they dont undertstand what defines a episode.
when the downloadable content comes to 360 it will be a happy day...however i still think TF2 plays much better when you can get above 24 players on a server...

yea that wud be sweet! but on xbox would be hard to get without lag.. valve is more pc orientated but they did a good port anyway.. a css wud be sweet for 360 but it probaly wudnt include zombie matches which was the only reason i got css!

lol those zombie games were mad...
left 4 dead for 360 should be gd as max only 8 players will be on so should be little lag issues (however dont quote me on that as source games make a lot of netcode!)
TF2 on a 32 man server playing pl_goldrush is just crazy...i spend more time dead than alive but its worth it for the manic amount of killage!

They really need to release the new maps/weapons/acheivements and allow more players on maps for 360. Then I would be satisfied. It's just taking such a long time. If they internally developed the PC and 360 versions then we should get the same content updates. I just dont know why they are being so slow with it. The PC gets updates so frequently its disgusting.

but msoft dictate the updates....valve makes the update...msoft have to test it and approve it...also they have to be a set size....so valves hands are sort of tied.
as a result most of the gameplay patches and extra levels etc will be a Downloadable content and thus will very likely be chargable.
plus this game creates a lot of net code so you need good badwidth to support above 16 players and a huge amount of players just wont have pipes big enough...also the more players the lower the fps will be (i assume valve designed the game to keep stable fps with up to 16 players all on screen at once)

True. I just want some damn updates....or at least a press release as to if or when these will be available....is that so much to ask for? haha. And I am sure we will have to pay for the updates if it includes new maps, etc... but thats a few bucks I'm willing to spend.
