Whats wrong with this gens consoles

Does anyone know the answer to this?

What with the 360 and it infamous RRoD and the PS3 with its YLoD what I want to know is this, What the hell is exactly the problem with this gens consoles? Why the heck are they so fragile? No one ever had this problem with the previous gens consoles! I mean you never herd about peoples GC or PS2's breaking or Watchdog have reporting about broken GC or Xboxes! My GameCube is 7 years old and still working great and my PS2 is about the same age and still works. So why are this gens consoles so poorly made or totally fragile?

I went through 2 PS1's & 3 PS2's All for the same thing. The laser failed, it was a common problem.
Yes the 3RROD is a bit worse than all previous consoles before it. But if you knew how many NES & Sega Megadrive/Genesis controllers i went through, for no fault of my own. You wouldn't wonder so much.
It's just because we expect more from our technology now.

Yea, apparently this guy's had completely flawless consoles and is oblivious to the real truth about past consoles. Can anyone else recall the blow technique to get the NES working?

Yeah that was fucking annoying.

You had to do that with the Megadrive/Genesis as well, as the years got on.

Nintendo planned this. Now we have all blown Nintendo once...maybe twice

To answer the question it boils down to heat (in general) for the xbox its the DVD drive, if this drive was a slot loading and slimmer then it would allow for a sufficent heatsink on the GPU which would have greatly improved the lifespan of the 360.

I had 4 ps2's die on me and not due to heat. I dont HATE Sony, but it made me wait until now to consider purchasing a ps3.
I rocked my ps1 upside down for YEARS cause it was a heaping launch console. heh I sold it that way too.
