Hey guys, if you check Sony's website, there's a compatibility page (PlayStation.com - Support - PLAYSTATION3 Backward Compatibility Status) where you can search and see if a PS2 or PS game is compatible with the specific PS3 you have. If you check MGS3 you will see that it is compatible with the 60GB and not as compatible on the 80GB, though it looks like some issues were resolved with updates. So I am guessing that whoever couldn't play MGS3 on his PS3 has the 80GB PS3. As you'll notice, those who played it said they had 60GB PS3's.

Now back to the collection... I picked up the Essentials Collection cause I never played Metal Gear games before and I wanna get caught up. So I plug in Metal Gear Solid 1, and the game is AMAZING for when it was released. Amazing sound and directing...

But I SUCK AT MGS!!! But I love it and I'll just keep trying. The reason why I suck is because I see this enemy guard, and I wanna kick his ass. But I'm not supposed to do that cause it's all about stealth. So if I attack him his friend jumps out of nowhere and starts shooting me. Lame. When you're playing a video game and you see an enemy, don't you wanna kick his ass?

What problems? If you check out the page I linked, it should list a few problems with the 60GB, although I think most/all of them were fixed in firmware updates. I have a 60GB but I haven't gotten to MGS3 yet so I don't know how it will go. Still on the first game.
