Problem with PS2 running FF games, why?
This is a really, really weird problem so here goes. I have copies of most of the Final Fantasy games. Last week, I tried to play FF7 and FF9 (PS1 games) in my PS2.
The PS2 is hooked up to my HD tv via composite (R,W,Y) cables, and is thus selected in the playstation menu. I am also on a widescreen TV so I chose 16:9 aspect ratio in the playstation menu.
Both games play fine. They start, load, video, audio, all the stuff except one key detail...they don't display the in-game menu! I can't see anything! I can move my cursor invisibly, and choose attack, defend, magic, item, etc but no menu is there, and nothing pops up. I'm playing blind!
WHY is this happening? Is it my TV? Is it the PS2? Is it the games? The PS2 was recently opened/cleaned as well as the laser so WTF?
I ran Ape Escape (first game to require use both dualshock analog sticks) and it worked fine.
