Xbox 360 Elite, or Playstation 3 80GB
Hey all, I'm just dropping by this forum for the sole intent of asking for advice as to which system I should buy. Both are $500+ and I want to make sure I'm getting enough out of my machine to justify the cost.
Obviously, I can predict that the Xbox 360 will be recommended to me here, but what I want to ask is "why?". What makes you enjoy your Xbox 360, and do you think it would have lasting satisfaction for me? Please give me your thoughts, because I know very little about either system.
The things I'm mainly going to be going for are exclusive titles, as I already have a PC and buy all of my (cross-platform) games for that. And just to clarify, I don't really like Halo, but is the online gaming worth paying a Live subscription? Will I get as much out of online Halo 3 as I did out of Call of Duty 4 on my PC? Are exclusive titles in abundance, and are they very fun?
Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Well, many of the Microsoft games will end up on pc eventually just like Fable, Gears, Viva Pinata and stuff like that. I'll just say PS3 GB because you WON'T ever get any ps3 exclusives or sony games on pc. Also there's a bigger variety of games on ps3 that are worth playing I think. On 360 it's mostly the FPS that hog the spotlight and value, on ps3 there's more. There's Socom, MGS4, Resistance 2, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, God of war 3, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts 3, stuff like that. Plus the online on PS3 is free and once a couple of firmware updates come that add stuff like in-game XMB, then it'll be just like Xbox Live. And ps3 has a web browser, an excellent built-in blu-ray drive, is quiet, has high reliability, doesn't scratch discs, and has less chances of RROD'ing on you 3 times.

PS3.
No contest in my opinion.
After 3 RROD and a required subscription to play online, and no wireless unless you pony up an extra $100+. It's just wrong.

Lol, this forum doesn't work that way. You'll probably get more ps3 recommendations here.

I think a vast majority of the regular members on this forum have been burnt by MS in one way or another, and just about all of use own PS3s too!

AD is like on/off nowadays on whether he wants one or not. It all depends on his mood and how much MGS4 videos he's looking at.

Of any outcome, it's understandable that I anticipated this one the least. I mean, getting PlayStation 3 referrals on the Xbox360 Forum? That must be the pinnacle of unbiasedness.
