overheating xbox

whenever i play this game my xbox gets like really hot within 5 mins so i can only play for like 30 mins so it wont overheat. does this happen to everybody

How hot exactly did it get. I think your just worrying a bit too much. Why is this thread in this section of the forum.

thats kind of wierd.. i was playing GTA 4 for a good 4 to 5 hours straight and nutn happened..and its a used 360. wut i do is, i keep the 360 outside with nature taking care of the heat. So far all is good

actually it could have something to do with the game. I more complex game engine and more things for the xbox to handle the hotter it will run. Same with a PC. Should call people idiots when you know less than them.

Anyway back on track. You prob are just worrying to much as consoles and computers do produce a lot of heat. Just play for longer and if it crashes then your xbox may be faulty and i would suggest looking into a replacement.

Although OmegaTreeFish is technically right that CPU increased CPU usage will cause more heat generated it is highly unlikely that any person could tell detect a difference in temperature while playing R6V2 vs other games like GTA4. You may notice a tempurature difference between sitting at the dashboard and playing a game as the dashboard only uses one core while retail games likely use 3 cores and push the CPU limits.

I would not worry about overheating due to what`s running but rather the overall tempurature and location relating to ventalation of the XBOX360. If you are comfortable that the environment is reasonable then the only case of an XBOX failure will be because of chance. I`ve run 4 XBOX360`s for 1.5 years (excessively I may say) and no problem has been a direct or indirect result of overheating.

The earlier 360`s just run HOT! Don`t worry and have fun. If one fails...deal with it at that time.
