Anybody else have this problem?

My girlfriend and I were playing Rock Band the other day. She was using the wireless GH3 Les Paul and I was using the Rock Band guitar. All of a sudden both of us started missing chunks of notes even though we knew we were hitting them. We tried different songs, even on Easy, same problem. We tried recalibrating to LCD, again, but no luck. Restarted the XBox, nothing. So now when we used to get through a song with 95%+ on medium songs we're just getting by with 80% or so. The GH3 guitar works fine with GH3, btw, so I'm guessing it's not the guitars.

I also have an, I think, unrelated (but very similar) problem with the drums. A lot of times I'll hit the right pad but the note won't register, or I'll miss one note and then, as if because I missed one, I all of a sudden miss the next three or four even though I'm hitting them. It's bad to the point that I've never gotten 100% on even an easy drum song and I'm a drummer (not Buddy Rich or anything but I should be able to 100% Dead or Alive on Easy). I have the launch drums so maybe that's it.

I've heard alot about problems with the drums, so its probably them.

With the guitar, there is a shorter window for hitting the notes compared to GH3. There been times when i miss a note and think, "wtf? im sure i hit that." because im so used to playing GH3. Im not saying it is you, but its something to consider.

ok with the guitars you have to be a lot more accurate that you do in GH3. saying that you said that you used to hit each note fine on RB. The only thing i have noticed is that my RB guitar is not quite as sensitive as it used to be. I used to be able to very very lightly tap the strummer and it registered. Now its not quite as sensitive as it used to be so maybe its just that.

As for the drums. Test each drum in practise mode or in the menus. Just hit at a regular beat and see if its actually missing notes. I know i have a problem where my yellow sometimes decides to not register but it doesnt seem too bad. If you are having this problem then either return the drums or look on youtbe about fixing them yourself. There are quick fixed that MAY help. I tugged on my yellow pad a bit and i think it works better than it did before. It still misses the odd beat if you hit it in the top right area of the yellow drum but the rest is mostly ok.

You could also just simply be hitting the drum wrong. I know your a drummer but this isnt real drums and they are a lot lower. Try changing your grip on the sticks or adjusting the hight of the drums. There is a great drummer on you tube who also drums i real life. He holds the sticks completely differently when playing RB because of these issues. I noticed that for a while i would move my hands to low and actually be hitting the drum flat with the stick rather than with the end. I lowered the drum and it has solved this prob for the most part.

Im still not amazing at the drums so bear in mind you may not have the same cripple hand issues i go through at times lol. I play mostly on hard. some on expert and some really hard on medium still as i havnt practised them yet.

rockband 2 is right around the corner probably be time for you to upgrade your instruments if they are "launch" ones
