By Reno, 30 Jul, 2008 - 12:49 AM - Australians are waiting patiently for the price of Rock Band to be announced, but just a warning to those who are eagerly awaiting news - it will hurt if it goes anything like Europe's pricing.
The game has been announced for Europe at an astonishing price of $120 (all prices in AUD), but this does not include instruments. So lets run these down the list.
For instruments, you've got two options. All will be available individually:
- For $110 you'll get a guitar.
- For $160 you'll get a drum set.
- For $290 you can buy a hardware kit which includes one guitar, drums and a mic.
- So $400 for the game + hardware kit.
To top this all off, according to a number of sources across the local retail sector, the game has been tipped for an October release. Well what a coincidence, around the same time period in which Rock Band 2 is released in the US.
You don't need an analyst to tell us that this deal sucks.

Just about everyone I know that was intrested in Rock Band has gotten sick of waiting for it.

Quite frankly, they lost my business after all the delays. I was expecting about $300, but $400 is just stupid. Especially since the instruments in GH4 look so much better.
At least in the GH games the guitar line is better. I've watched the Youtube vids of Rock Band and the guitar lines look a little simple. I'll play the guitar on it 90% of the time anyway.
Yeah, for that price I'd want all the downloadable content already available.
