Look, it's a matter of taste. I you don't like it, get rid of it. If you do like it, play it until a young relative decides to break and slobber on it. It has nothing to do with whether you can be arsed to play the real deal.

EDIT: I'm a drummer, but I dont give a shit about Rock band.

And I guess war shooters like Call of Duty are just for people who are too lazy to join the armed services and really train to be a soldier, and racers are for those who are too lazy to become professional race car drivers, and fighting games are for those without the initiative to become professional fighters.

Games are there to be fun. Some people really enjoy these rhythm games while others don't. But in all honest, most people that I know who have actually tried Rock Band or Guitar Hero find them fun to play. Usually the naysayers are those who don't pick it up and give it a shot.

And I'm going through the motions of learning to play my real guitar. I have an electric and it's been great fun learning to play riffs to songs...but I still enjoy rocking out to Guitar Hero from time to time as well.

And has it occured to you that maybe people don't WANT to learn how to play the instruments, but they they just wanna have fun and rock out? Just because someone plays a game doesn't mean they are too lazy to do the real things in real life. When I play Assassin's Creed, does it mean that I'm too lazy to climb buildings, jump roofs, and assassin people? No. I love cod4 and play it alot. Does that mean that I'm too lazy to shoot terrorists with my M4 carbine in real life? No.

Sim City and the like, are for people who can't be asked to become a god.

It's a game, get over it, people play games for enjoyment all games not to think that they are good at guitar or that they use it as a substitute.
