Recording Rockband tracks

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and tried to search this topic but had no luck.

Basically, I have a Roland TD-9SX electronic drum kit that has a USB drive.
I'm trying to record the training sessions on rockband 1 &2 without playing the drums to my laptop. Then have a drumless track I can plug into my real set and play along with it.

I don't think this is a breach of copyright, I bought the games and are not distributing, just changing the way I use them.

My questions is has anyone had any luck recording from an XBOX 360 or maybe even a TV to a Laptop. The Mic input jack is not powerful enough to handle the audio from what I have tried so far. I would appreciate any insight or help if anyone has any experience with anything like this.
