A pathetic attempt

So,

i bought two worlds the other day.

Excited i was to be able to try out MMORPG gaming (if u can call it that with an 8 player limit) on the 360.

The concept looked like a good one, and i thought "why havent theyre been any other games like this for 360?

I can understand why there isnt any world of warcraft for the 360, eve online or Hellgate: London coz it just wouldnt work, but this was on a much smaller scale so it looked promising.

Unfortunately after playing it online for five minuites, i turned it off and put it away, somewhere where i cant find it again.
Somewhere where it can be hidden away with all the other garbage 360 games.

Bassically.

Online, the lag is so bad, its rediculous.
You can hardly move at all at some points, so trying to fight an enemy is a chore, and trying to trade with an NPC is almost impossible.

The UI is terrible, and you can hardly read the text, so all the numbers and words you can see, means nothing coz u cant read them.

This was also a bad, because there was no quick way of doing anything.
In world of warcraft, you can press 1-0 to use an ability, this had none of that, just a silly circular menu.

Also, on the back of the box, it gives the impression that you can play online through the whole story, like in 1 player offline. It says you can play with 8 players through co-op campaigns, is it just me or doesnt campaign mean the actual or AN actual story?
The arena's you can play on are not campaigns so, to me, its false advertising or just really really bad descripting.
If i knew this wasnt the case, i wouldnt have bought it.

I tried it one-player offline and even then it didnt run properly!!,
to be honest i dont think the 360 can utlilize this game at all.


To be honest, i find it frustrating that they (whoever they are) let the developers release a game that doesnt work!!.
Thats just bang out of order.

I mean isnt there people that check these things to make sure a game works properly?

The lag is a well-known issue.

So dont buy this game if you want to play it online, or at all, until it drops to £5.

However, i have bought a PC version, (yes i go on a lot about PC this and that but hear me out, if you wanna play this game properly, then its the only choice)

Bassically, because Dedicated servers are setup to constantly run the game online, it means there is no lag whatsoever.
Its smooth as a baby's bum.

Also there isnt a limit of 8-players.
A few servers have quadruple that amount, but oddly i cant find them sometimes when doing a search, but can play on them when i do.

Anyway, apart from the lag on the 360 , this game is ok, and quite solid.
a bit boring at times, coz the land is sparse when finding things,
and it doesnt compare to Warcraft at all or to many other MMORPG's, but its not bad.

So, if you wanna play this game, like many others that dont work on live, then get the PC version and dont waste ur money.
Its a solid game on PC.

Good Concept, but terrible execution.

maybe they will have pc's with an xbox emulator or something running dedicated servers??

coz people running their own will never work with MMORPG's

About the pressing 1-0... On a gamepad there isn't really that option, what do you expect? Unless you wanted to cycle through them...

But I haven't played WOW or that, so I cant comment.

True there isnt that option, but i was pointing out that
the controls or at least the way they mapped them should have been a bit more user friendly, and they could have been easily.

it wasnt meant to be an mmo, it was meant to rip off oblivion and add a rushed online element.

It certainly doesnt stack up to oblivion thats for sure.

Your better off downloading the Online mod for oblivion, i got it off a demo disk around a year ago ish, it wasnt good at first and only allowed two people but now allows 16.

With the Mod comes The All Seeing Eye server browser,
which can find these games, as an in-game server browser hasnt been implemented.

Believe me, its awesome fun stealing horses, with ur mates backing you up as you escape etc, well worth it, no probs at all.

It lets you play as you would in the story but with others, and the option to have loot and money split is there too.

Hopefully they might release an expansion with an official online mode, but really their aint much point coz the mod is good enough.

Their is even a DM mode
