I hate third person shooters, if you're suppose to be playing as a certain character why would you be following behind them?

Also I had a really bad time with GRAW which has kinda made me have a negative viewpoint of all TPS.

Fps Rule
FPS in my opinion are much better and more realistic than 3rd person.
I enjoyed Gears of War - but I think it would have been better as FPS.
Ever since the first DOOM & DUKE NUKEM have the FPS been my fave.
Im sure many will disagree.
Im hoping the FPS takes a new direction now - away from WW2, lets take it
to The Falklands, Vietnam, Time travel FPS< rome,waterloo ect>

I like them both but there are more FPS than TPS.

I much much much prefer third person. It's better for the cover system, you can see if you're about to get blown up by a grenade behind you, and on lots of games I like to take a look at my characters awesome armor etc.
