Want a rechargeable battery pack for GHIII? It's gonna cost you.

Guitar Hero III's wireless guitar battery pack costs you more moolah

For all the innovation that the "new-gen" of consoles have brought us, there's one thing that will apparently never change: ridiculously over-priced accessories. Giving the wireless Guitar Hero III controller a feature it should have had from the get go is the $19.99 single recharge kit, which removes the need to use and dispose of single-use batteries. This continues on from the precedent that Microsoft set with its wireless controller, which only comes bundled with a case to stick a couple of AA batteries inside. You can grudgingly pick up this necessary but over-priced accessory on October 31st from Red Octane's store.

I still use my GHII guitars, I have to and I'll be damned if I'm spending another $160 for all the GHIII stuff.

I dont see the point in all the wireless crap. It costs more, and eats away batteries. I'll stick with wired.

has anyone killed their batteries yet? how long did they last? i really want to know.
oh and if you stick with the GH2 controller you are really missing out. it may be a rip-off with the battery charger but the x-plorer is a piece of shit that should never have been made in the first place. the GH3 controller is better in every way (except batteries), it's bigger, heavier, the buttons are easier to press down, etc.

Yeh I wonder if they are gonna put their own batter in it that can only charge with that device or u can use ur own AA batteries. If you can use your own, I'll just use my own rechargable batteries.

The only difference is a different design and the GHIII guitar can be taken apart.

I'm pretty sure you can just use regular or rechargeable AA batteries with the guitar.
