WTF GH2 on Hard!
I have tried for so long just to beat Mother. It's the lest song out of the five that I need to beat to move on and I just cannot do it. Practicing doesn't help either because if I try to slow the song down the timing gets all FUBAR. Any tips before I Reagan Smash my guitar?

one day i played it and i just owned it. i sucked at it in the beginning. you could try memorizing it...that would probably work

Maybe you should talk to Andrew about this... the same song put a stop to his career on hard 
Well, just practice scales and hammer ons, that's all the song is about. And if your planning on getting GH3, you better get better because the difficulty level on the 3rd is harder to an extreme amount.

It's not really that I can't do it. I've been playing musical instruments since the fourth grade so I know I have the rhythms right but when I hammer on and pull off it's like I need to play faster than the song actually is. Do you know what I mean? I'm thinking the Xpolorer controller really sucks ass right now.

you'll get it it just takes the hardest trick in the book and that's not getting frustrated. Which you've already done. And just wait til you play freebird on hard you'll be on that for months

Get Guitar Hero III if you dont like the Xplorer. Finish up Guitar Hero II atleast on hard with the Les Paul that you get in the 3rd one. Then play GH2 after, because it's alot better anyways.

have you calibrated the game to your TV? it's in the options. if the timing seems off that should fix it, unless it's just in your technique.
do you play piano/keyboard? playing HO/PO notes is just like playing piano keys with your left hand.
and yeah, the new GH3 controller is WAY better. but if you can't beat mother on hard, it's more than just the controller that's holding you back. keep practicing.
