you need to work on your technique. faster does not equal harder,... in fact the best way to play fast is with a soft touch, exerting only the minimal amount of energy needed.
see if you can strum without tensing the muscles... keep your hand loose and just kind of flop it back and forth, instead of forcing it.

I saw this a while back. Not only is he good but he is also cocky with it. There is a video on youtube of him playing Physchobilly Freakout by The Reverend Horton Heat on GHII and in some parts he even turns away from the TV and rocks out.
Now that is impressive.
