rock band or guitar hero 4?

ok so my question is should i get rock band or wait for guitar hero 4? so if i should go with guitar hero 4 would it be wise to get arrowsmith for a past time till guitar hero 4 then trade it in to game stop?

problem is no one knows exactly what gh4 is going to be like. I prefere the song selection, download availability and graphical stylings of rock band to that of GH3. I can only guess that GH4 will have improoved but similar graphical styling to taht of GH3. Personally i really dont like the look of the GH4 drum kit allthough a lot of people might disagree. All i know is i have rock band and i love it. If GH4 is better then so be it but it wont mean rock band suddenly becomes rubbish. I very much doubt il get GH4 as i have rockband. GH3 doesnt have much downloadable content and i can imagine GH4 will have the same issue. Yeah ok its going to have the song maker thing but i really doubt id enjoy sifting through thousands of home made songs (or remakes) to find one thats been made well. I prefere the real article and i am happy to pay for it. If i want free homemade songs il just put guitar zero on my pc and do it that way.

Well GH4 wont be out till 2009 & even then it might be delayed. So it depends if you can wait that long.
And Rockbands DL songs are cheaper than the GH songs.
If you do buy RB dont bother with the mic. Unless you have friends that love to sing.

I'm in the seperat boat. I'd MUCH rather play GH's songs to Rockband's. Thats why I am waiting it out. It's really down to song preference/ waiting. Rockband is still a lot of fun though, I would buy it for the drumming alone, but, I dont have that much money to spend on gaming.

Plus, I prefer the look of GHIV's drums, with the symbols n'all.

I prefer the GH4 drums but GH downloadable content is so shite compared to how often and how much RB gets....

I'd go for GH4 tho just because of the drums.

2009? I thought it was due fall '08, at least it is according to Gamestop.com, and at the bottom it says Activision confirmed an autumn release.

Anyway, I'm in the same situation and I'm waiting on GH4 to come out. I've never liked Rock Band's playability as far as the buttons; it seems even if I hit a button at the exact moment I still miss it sometimes, whereas I never had that problem with any of the GH's. I also never liked Rock Band's guitar, not the look mind you but the build quality, it feels like it was made by a 3 year old in some Korean sweat shop and could fall apart if I sneezed on it.

I think the customization in GH4 will be nice too; making your own character, your own guitar, your own songs, and your own band designs/logo's. That along with what's supposed to be the biggest song selection of any of the GH games (or Rock Band) to date.

problem with saying il wait for GH4 because of the drums is no one has used them. All you have seen is a picture. If and i mean IF both those symbols are used as seperate buttons then the drumming might be even more fun as its an extra drum to learn. I doubt they will class as seperate symbols though and i dunno why but they jsut look cheap lol. I could be wrong of course and will hold jugement till i get to actually play on one.

yeah i think it's hard to fairly compare these 2 games until guitar hero 4 is released. Does anyone know if you'll be able to buy just the guitar alone and the game? because i would rather not fork out for drums and whatnot when i can't fit them in and wont probably use them.

GH 4 does look nice, but seeing as I already have Rock Band and we get 3 or more new DLC songs a week, I'll be sticking with Rock Band, and highly doubt that I'll be picking up GH 4 when it comes out.
