I agree. The ps3 is getting in trouble if they don't make their effort. Microsoft is showing true heart as they are doing what ever they can, caring for their customers.

Heh. If FF XIII and MGS 4 become multiplatform, I'm going to have a tough time thinking of a good reason to buy a PS3. I was planning on getting one eventually, but now I'm not so sure.
Unless my 360 craps out...

this doesn't really mean much. sony lost some exclusives for 2 reasons. ps3 had a year late launch (as a result, 360 has a larger install base thus forcing 3rd party developers to broaden their user base to pull in more revenue), and m$ has paid for exclusive rights to obtain certain popular 3rd party titles that were previously exclusive to only the playstation console.
yes, there are some good exclusives out their that are console sellers, but most of the games that went multi-platform are older games on their 4th..5th..6th sequel. how many more games are left under the developer's belt before the consumer becomes bored with the game's repetitive game play and content? these games are successful but also old material. and without enough new origional content, even the most successful game series, will ultimately die off.
new and innovative material is the key to successful games and an important deciding factor when buying a console. loosing these exclusives will only push sony to develop and seek out more unique and innovative games for the ps3.
don't forget, playstation didn't become a household name and product by accident. even though sony didn't have much competition during the ps1 and ps2 era, they still pushed for new, creative, and origional content. just look at all the many successful games they've had over the years. even now, look at all the games conceived during the playstation era that rubbed off on other consoles like the origional xbox, gamecube, wii, and even 360. as of current, playstation is the only console to have that kind of success. I'm sure sony will provide many more successful games for the ps3 that will have people saying, "i wish they made this game for the 360" or "wii".

source says that MGS4 will be coming to the Xbox 360 shortly after the PS3 release. The source says Konami is concerned that there will still not be enough PS3 units out there to make the game profitable. This is the same rationale being used by many publishers, including Ubisoft, to jump off the exclusive bandwagon. Somebody has to pay the bills and the wider the net, the more money publishers will make.

Source
Considering this, Sony really do need to push on selling more units, and the only way I can see that happening is a price cut (even though the PS3 in my view is already as good value as the 360 due to all the extras you get).........

Still...The title still says "rumor". If I was Konami, I would say "Noobs, if you really want MGS4, go buy a PS3, damn cry babies."

But the point I wanted to air is that developers choose the 360 not only because its currently easier to develop for, but the target audience is much greater then the PS3's, and a PS3 exclusive isnt gonna make as much income fo rthe developers if there are not enough units out there to reap the profits in.
Maybe this is the reason why the PS3 is loosing so many of its exclusives.

Screw target audience...bunch of little kids that can't have both. Whatever, I don't even care.

But you will care if the games are just being developed for the 360, and ported to the PS3, as is the current state with many developers, as they wont unlock the true power of the PS3 like this, and the 360 games would continue to look and play better.
Dont get me wrong, Im not fighting fo rth e360, I dont fight for either console no more, they are both great. Im just sayin gthat this is a major blow for the PS3. If they never lost exclusives like Assassins Creed the PS3 would be shit hot. But Sony dont seem to be doing much about the situation at the mo. I hope they pick up the pace for competitions sake!
