ps3 has been having its tread of hyped games turn shit. This really pisses me off cuz i really do want a ps3 but not many exclusives are worth getting. yes mgs4 is gonna be sick but one isnt enough.
did anyone actually buy this game? also what is so shitty about it?

I bought it and I've pumped in a little over 3 hours (which isn't normal for me to do in one day) and I got to say, I promptly unsubscribed to IGN. A little off topic at first but these phantom reviews coming from big sites is getting old. "Halo 3... Lets give it a 9.8! What's that? Yeah yeah, lets give that game a 9.7! GTA, well lets not even play it, 10! How about that game? Oh, PS3 exclusive, 5.." To give this game a low review just shows your lack of honesty when it comes to your job.
Haze has managed to keep my attention and not only that, but bring me into the story. (Which if you followed the game at all you know it.) There are a lot of little quirks that each character brings to the table. And I honestly think they made the Mantel forces annoying and bad mannered because of you switching sides and immediately having to kill them. I'll tell you what after hearing "Boosh" for the 20th time from these two dipshits it made killing them all that better. Running up, kicking them in the chest and taking there gun just to shoot him in the face. Mmmm.. Good times. As I said, the story so far is really enjoyable as I've already switched sides.
The graphics are good for what they are. Horrible textures IGN? I haven't seen any yet. Plus keep in mind this is coming from Free Radical, so you need to accept their design style. The guns and the environments are all nicely done. Sure the level where you are chasing "Skin Coat" got a little dry but that was just because you were in a desert driving a vehicle for the better portion of that half hour stint. Otherwise the graphics serve their purpose and do a great job at it. This isn't Gears of War.
My biggest complaint so far is the weapons. I'm hoping I come across some more later in the story because so far I've picked up two different assault rifles, a pistol, a minigun, a flamethrower, and a shotgun. Granted its a decent line up, but Im hoping the rebel side has a bunch of fun little shit to use. Everything is beautiful when it comes to the weapons except the flamethrower. It really feels like they didn't even bother doing anything to the pre-alpha flames. Oh well, its not even a fun gun to use so you won't be staring at it long.
Multiplayer works seamless and flawlessly. The four player coop is a blast and the competative online is good in its own right. Its no COD4 or anything like that, but it will be a mode for me to play for at least a few months more.
This is the case of another game that didn't pay out for its review and getting the shaft. It at least deserves a 7.5-8. People/reviewers say FPS are getting old, then please go back this past year and knock down all the ones that came out to a 4.5 also. Just to show you mean it. It is a shame because a team like Ubisoft and Free Radical (Two of the best names out there) just lost a lot of sales because of their refusal to pay out for a good review.
Go out and rent it at least as it is worth your time. In certain spots I have been at the edge of my seat and a few times jumped from random nectar withdrawl effects. They did a great job and don't deserve the shit they got.

Honestly I trust Chuck more then i trust IGN so after reading your little review there I think I will at least give this one a rent! if I dont like it then im only out 8 bucks. Big deal. Thanks for the review Chuck!
