I wouldn't mate, i was gonna do the same but decided to get both. The only thing that the PS3 has over the 360 in my experienced opinion is MGS4. All the games like Fifa, Rainbow Six and Call of Duty I much prefer on the 360. Mostly because the single player is the same as the ps3s, but I find the online experience to be a lot better on the 360.
Having said that though, at least you would be able to play games without being worried your 360 will break if you choose a ps3. If Metal Gear Solid is the only thing that makes you want a PS3, I would really wanna say get it for that but its just not worth it. If you choose a triple though, u will freakin' love MGS

I did what you are thinking of doing and I would persoanlly say keep the 360 and save up for a ps3 and just have both. I miss my 360 badly (always playing my roomates) however I do enjoy the PS3 and the fact that i can watch blu ray movies is nice as well. And built in wireless internet, easily upgradble HDD,etc. I bought the 40 gig and upgraded to a 120 for 50 bucks. that would have cost me 100+ on the 360! Other than that I would just suggest putting the games you dont want or play anymore on ebay and use that money to start saving for a ps3!

Well if you are bored of playing your 360 games, then playing the games on ps3 which you missed will probably give you some freshness.

I have the same problem. But I think in the end I'm going to get the PS3.
Btw, are there any PS3 RROD problems, or you know what I mean. Just general problems with the system?
