thinking of selling 360, and getting ps3.. need as much info as poss

so yeah, first xbox 360 got rrod, brought a 2nd one, which i brought USED.. had it for 3 weeks and the pictures started going funny like it did on my first one right before it died.. but, im gonna take the new one back using the warranty, which is easy because i dont send it to microsoft i just take it into gamestation and they replace it. Then, im gonna use the same warranty from the newest 360 i brought and get the old one replaced, so ill have 2 360's.. one with 20gb harddrive.. and a hell of alot of games (including about 18 arcade games all worth over 200 pounds in total)

so i should have plenty of money to buy a ps3, along with alot of games

but i only wanna get a ps3 because im thinking long term, so the MOST important question i have to ask is.. whats the history like for the ps3's reliability? will it ever break down??

can it play ps2 or ps1 games? and it can play dvd right? because i probably wont be buying any blue ray

what are the games like? resistance 2 looks good and up to 60 players online

plus killzone 2 which is a sure deal to be a great game! also, is it true that unreal tournament 3 for the ps3 has user created content? because that is simply amazing imo!

and, whats the online play like? any arcade games u can download and how much do they charge? and whats the lag like? as iv heard xbox live is so much better due to there being alot of lag on ps3

if you guys can think of anything else which is an advantage or disadvantage on the ps3 please tell me about it, i wanna know everything about it before buying one

Uh well they're very reliable... not backwards compatible unless you get the 60gb one but they don't sell them anymore, unless you look on ebay but they're more expensive.. UT3 has user created content.. haven't played resistance2.. killzone 2 looks amazing.. yeah you can play normal dvd's and with the blu ray player it upscales regular dvd's to look better. All in all it's a great system and I'm happy i changed my 360 for a PS3

Games DL'ed for the XBL arcade are locked to your XBL account and aren't viable for sale.

Every console breaks eventually . . . that's inevitable. However, the PS3 is more resilient compared to the 360.

None of the new ones can play PS2, all can play PS1, and all can play DVD (albeit poorly).

Lag seems to vary based on the game, so does features offered. XBL has a more complete and unified system IMO, but there's tradeoffs between the two.

Blu-Ray is the largest benefit IMO. Not using it diminishes the value of the system greatly.

40gb should be enough then... 80gb isn't that much more expensive though.
Just get an 80gb, you'll never have to worry about filling it up too quickly.

oh crap i didnt think of that! but my profile would still be on the xbox right? only thing is my credit card details are saved onto it, but if theres a way to delete the details of credit card off i should be able to get price added on for arcade games right??

No. Most game traders will not honor arcade games due to the fact that the account can be reclaimed and is linked to all your info including email. You'll only be paid for materially tangible items, or at least that's the way it is with all shops I've dealt with.

yeah, i was thinking of taking them 2 xbox's down to a shop.. but i mean how much would they give me? maybe i'd make more money selling them on amazon or something?? but tbh then id have to go through the fuss of getting the consoles down to the people who have brought it and all that, where as a shop will just take it off my hands

u can revive ur profile from another XBOX right? because if i wont get any money for arcade games ill just delete every last little thing on my 360's, since i dont want any1 getting my information, and then if i ever get a 360 again in the future ill have all my arcade games back

You'd probably make the most on Ebay, but that's just personal experience.

You would have to ship them to the new owners, which means you'd have to pack them and insure them at a post office (or similar courier). Sometimes dealing with a local dealer is easier (on unpopular games that don't sell on ebay), but on popular items you usually make more online IMHO.

well i dont have an ebay account.. dont have amazon either, but dont they buy off some1 with a decent rep or something? it might take awhile til i get all the stuff sold thats wat im thinking about. would it be best to sell the games i have seperatley or along with the xbox? i have about 13 or so games, newest ones being gears of war 2 and left 4 dead
