NCAA 07 Football question

I just got a new Xbox 360 and picked up a used copy of NCAA Football 07. Am I doing something wrong, or is it about impossible to run in this game. It seems every time I try a rushing play I've got 3 guys in the backfield before I can even move. Do I need to increase the blocking AI or something?

I find that sweeps don't often work. And pitches fail often too. Try some runs up the middle in a Double Tight Aces set. This is a good place to start. Also avoid counters until you get the hang of the game.
