But you tend to forget one player that will prove to be most valuable for the Celtics: Rajon Rondo. First year in the league, straight to the playoff's with the team, and how beautifully did he adapt. That's got to say something. Of course there has been criticism about his age, his skill but he sure proved them wrong. Just look at his stats for the 2008 playoffs:
PPG 10.2
RPG 4.10
APG 6.6
I think the Celtics had all the great players besides a point guard, but that will change once Rondo steps up.

^ Keep in mind that those stats are bloated probably because he gets many wide-open jumpers and people don't guard him nearly as well as they do for Allen, Garnett, and Pierce. Of course they have Pierce who claims to be better than Kobe and is the best player on the world so that'll attract some attention.

It doesn't matter if the stats are bloated, it's not like we're trying to evaluate his game because he's getting traded or something. He's gonna keep getting those open looks in Boston, and he's going to make them eventually.

In the playoffs, when playing the Pistons, he was guarded by Billups, when against the Lakers, Kobe was on him and even when he had other players guarding him he was always on fire in the paint. Always pushing the ball to the rim, no matter if big or small men were there, and that;s what i loved about him. Maybe he wasn;t so sure on his middle range/long range shot, maybe he just wanted to embaress the players guarding him but he always went straight to the rim, either doing a reverse layup or making an assist. I love when i see small guys chalenge the paint like that.

Rondo reminds me a lot of how Tony Parker was in 2004, I think he's going to end up being a similar player.

Right you are, and in 2007, when he was Finals MVP against the Cavaliers, boy was he a amazing or what. He didn;t settle for jump shots, always going in the paint for a layup. My kind of guy
Tony Parker's Top 10 Finals Moments
Of course, this is just a small taste...there are plenty of mixes from when they won the championship in 2007 worth checking out.

Kobe guarded him for about two quarters and the Lakers played well in those two quarters that Kobe guarded him.

That may be, i can;t remember exactly so i might be mistaken, but the fact remains that Rajon Rondo is still young and has plenty of time to become a great player.
What about the pre-olympic games? Did you guys watch USA against Australia or Russia?
Very sloppy plays, plenty of turnovers and some airballs for the americans. Also quite a few blocks and steals dunks ofcourse. It's not NBA material but at least it get's the job done.
