Euphoria:core

Euphoria:core is NaturalMotion’s lightweight DMS engine. euphoria:core runs parallel to the game’s animation engine and is called by the game’s AI whenever synthesised motion is required instead of canned animation. This enables a non-disruptive integration and scalable use.

Euphoria:core consists of a small kernel, AI controller modules (for adaptive behaviours) and a rigid dynamics module (for physics). euphoria is physics-engine independent and works with all commercially available engines (as well as proprietary ones).

Partners

Euphoria is not middleware. Instead, NaturalMotion has close co-development relationships with publishers and development teams to integrate euphoria into their next-generation titles. This allows clients to hit the ground running and produce euphoria-enabled games within short time frames.

Euphoria is currently being integrated into multiple AAA next-generation console titles, including Grand Theft Auto IV, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Indiana Jones and Backbreaker.

Yea, they are using the same engine for GTA IV and I think Gears of War 2. I wonder what else they are going to use it for....This is the next generation of physics. Rag dolls is a thing of the past.

i hated rag doll physics anyways... it was awful.. and very unrealistic.

Are you sure for GoW2? Can't see Epic using anything other than Unreal...

Ragdoll was so much fun, nothing better than a body crippling through the air.

It may not be for GTA 4, I've been playing it and the ragdoll effect is definately there!

It most certainly is... It's what makes GTA IV great.

Dan is correct, it is being used in GTA IV. If you accelerate just as the police are holding on to your car door handle, you can drag them down the road!
