Face Mapping Online Issue

hi,

me and a few of my mates have got rainbow 6 and have "face mapped" our characters. it all looks good (very realistic!!) but when we play online you can see yourself but to everyone else we still look like a normal computer head. the only time we have managed to view each other as our face mapped character was when we played a co op story mode game..........even then we only started to be able to see each others faces after about 10 minutes of play.

just wondering if any one else has noticed this problem or is it a glitch in the game? it seems a bit stupid if you can only see yourself as i believe the whole point was that you can instantly recognise people that you are playing with!!

any suggestions?

I doubt it's a glitch because if you looked at everyones head, you'd have to have them saved and that would take up a lot of memory...

yep, i agree with what you are saying but how come i can see my mates face when we play a co op game?

also the game manual says:-

"character creation lets u build a unique looking character for ALL online sessions. you can also use an xbox 360 camera to photograph your face and overlay it on your character, placing you directly in the game."

plus, the review for this game in one of the xbox 360 magazines stated "the camera feature is amazing.......it was great to be able to play online and instantly be able to recognise your friends."

Are you sure that in the Option>Multiplayer you have character models set to Custom as opposed to a character from the game?

its all started working now for some reason! well, kinda! in some games it works but in others it doesnt. its really cool when it does work though!! an update from ubisoft should solve it soon so it will work all the time.

just got a reply email from ubisoft saying that they are aware of the problem and hope to fix it with an automatic update soon.

hi mate, you still are in the AsboMafia but as the shitty EA servers never work on BF2:MC were a clan without a plan!

im hoping battlefield bad company / 2142 will have the issue fixed by then! real shame that there are no official clans on rainbow or gears.

can you always see other peoples created faces? or do you mean you can always see your own?

i never have any problems seeing my own face when taking cover......its just that we cant see the other players created faces.
