Going without being detected is my favorite, but is very hard to do. And you can slit throats, or stab in the back.

you can't slit throats...you are thinking of the quick swipe, when they walk up to you. thats hardly a throat cut.

I never used a gun once in the entire game. If they same me, I run away and hide, then when it's clear, I try again and see if I can do anything to get past them, I will everyone in a while take them out, but I never kill them.
P.S. Snake, you dont slit their throats, you kick them in the back with your knee really hard, breaking it.

I try to knock as many out as possible and I needed I take out a gun, just sometimes hard when you don't have the guard walking pattern down.

After years of tenchu's and Thief's I find it impossible to play a game like this without sneaking everywhere. I kill only when neccesary and ensure I am never seen. All bodies are hidden and if I find that a body has been found in the mission report, I redo it.

I picked the wrong time to get into SC apparently because I could barely go through a mission half way before being detected. To my credit though, I didn't use a strategy guide or cheats so I killed everyone and ran and hid until it was clear.
