Not a great level of damage but with the excellent accuracy you are nearly always guaranteed a headshot if you try for one

that is 1 of my biggest whines about this game on the 360, sniping with a close combat short range low damage machine gun. oh and next to no recoil at all.
they have made a tactical FPS simulation a little arcade style with the un realistic weapons maybe we will get rail guns and rocket launchers soon
raven shield on the PC every gun had its on characteristics and they were all unique in their own way.

But is this nay worse than one hit kills with an automatic shotgun?
Soldiers, SAS and Marines are taught to aim for the head or heart and if it means using a sight to ensure accuracy, why not use the tools at your disposal?
Would you rather everyone use the Light Machine Guns and just kill with manic suppressive fire?
I find the use of Rifle Scope (with no more than .5xMagnification) to be totally acceptable and although I have been on the receiving end of it more times than I care to remember (3 kills and about 20 deaths previously ) I still prefer this over what usually happens which is masses and masses of frikkin grenade kills

when i host i always turn off that fucking shite shot gun the XMS is it?
but in all fair ness if a noob uses it he is easy to take down. he fires off his rounds and has a long loud reload more than enough time to kill him..
but as i said i disable that shot gun, nades, c4, incend, and the gps devices.
and yes i agree with what you are saying about the realism in the training regarding head/ heart shots BUT... even the most elite trained soldier with the most accurate scope and perfect eyesite and steady hands cant fire a projectile out of a barrel so short over such a long distance and hit a target the size of a pea.
my gripe is the " MP5 is not a sniper rifle " but it is as just as effective as one at the moment.
the normal one shot reload shot guns are a little over ranged on accuracy as well i have to admit. i have taken guys down at ranges that shouldnt be possible.

The XMS is a terrible gun.
I have been taken down so many times but people just running at me hammering the fire button and luckily hittingme smack on with 1 of the 8 shells, so think I will have to start disabling that too.
typically I disable Frags, Incendaries, Gps and C4 but think I shall follow suite with the XMS

makes me laugh when some one, and lots of people do this, disable both gas masks and the tear gas....
if you disable the tear gas there is no need for the masks so people wont, unless they are stupid, equip them.
i allow the explosives on some maps cause its fun.

Like a fool last night I put freindly fire on and did co-op terrorist hunt with some clan mates.
one of them (Imshall) told me to be careful with grenades incase SkyHawk walks int he way again (long running joke).
2 minutes later we open a door, I say "Frag Away "as SkyHawk walks in the doorway and the grenade bops off the back of his head as he rushes through, Machine gun firing, and I sigh in sorrow as the grenade goes off in my face.
I really should start turning FFire off

No, PSAS 12 is a semi-automatic that fires single rounds with no need to pump
