Faulty Headset

Sometimes when i'm talking to my friends online I press start and notice the mic icon is not lighting up. And other times it does. It seems like everyother time I talk, it does not go through. Anyway to fix this?

Also, it's hard to hear people through my headset, it's too quiet. I have it turned up to 10 through the setting, and turned up on the headset itself. Any other way to get the volume higher?

no it isnt very loud i agree..and try blowing on he controller input and the headset thingy and try pushing it in harder(lol push harder..)
