Also how much difference does it make when you unlock new weapons, will they kill alot easier or is every one the same on Live?
And finally what are "PINGS"?
Thanks

First off, like a couple of others have said, you have to move to stay alive. You stand around in the open without cover, you are going to die and it's going to happen fast. I watched one guy on my team (a 1st Lieutenant like myself) tonight take out 1/2 of the opposite side on his own at the same time by moving erratically, alternating between ducking and standing, maneuvering around pieces of cover (concrete blocks, crates, etc) to absorb grenade blasts and bullets and using controlled bursts to keep his gun on target. Four kills, two of which were Elites, and he took only 1 hit. I suck at this play style myself, but work on the basics and you'll last a bit longer.
For new weapons, a gun is a gun. While you may find the concept of using the Desert Eagle once you rank up to Captain really cool, you might find it to be a cumbersome weapon compared to the other pistols in a Pistols Only match. You have to find a weapon that suits you for that map (close-in, long range, etc).
As for shields, they suck major ass. When I host, I ban them because otherwise the losing team simply loads up on shields and turtles into one corner for the rest of the game. I also ban the XM-26 auto shotgun as well as the radar jammer. If you are in a game that allows shields (most don't), just close the distance and unload from one of their vulnerable sides or drop a grenade and run like hell.
