Looking to get into Splinter Cell

I'm looking for a good stealth game, something to keep me entertained throughout the summer. I'm pretty sad that I have to miss out on Metal Gear Solid 4 because I don't have a ps3 and I'm really in the mood for a stealth game. I heard from many people that the old Splinter Cell games are better than Double Agent but I would have to play my original Xbox which means worse graphics and no achievements, are the graphics decent for the old splinter cell games compared to games this gen? Which Splinter Cell game should I start at? Do the Splinter Cell games have a good story? Thanks in advance.

Iv only played the first and second game. As far as i can remember they were pretty cool games.

They are really good games, and i would recommend chaos theory (the 3rd one)

Thet are all really good with good stories.

Double Agent isnt as bad as people say. Its just different. You still have your classic full stealth missions. But then you have stealth missions where your out in the open. Its very interesting game, highly recomended if your looking for a stealth 360 game.

Splinter Cell isnt the best game. If you can get it for $5 then go for it.

Have a mate round to stay and do the co-op storyline on Chaos Theory.

Splinter Cell is amazing.

Go buy all four. The best are Chaos Theory and Double Agent.

I thought Double agent was a really good game, theres loads of decisions and a pretty sound stealth game.

Seconded. One series of games which I've never really been able to put down. I'm a much bigger fan of Sam Fisher and co. than Solid Snake and co.

I would say get them all. I think the first 3 are all available on the original Xbox and of course you know that Double Agent is on the 360. The aforementioned 360 game is a little bit different but I found it to contain enough classic Splinter Cell moments to keep me happy.

Chaos Theory (Effectively Splinter Cell 3) is quite possibly one of the best games I ever had for my PS2.

The graphics obviously don't compete with the next-gen consoles but they are still pretty suave. You won't see many framerate issues with any of the games.
