If you move to Kentucky and get a job at iEntry then you could have a chance of being on the admin team!
But seriously, you'll need to have spent some time here and built up a bit of a reputation as a sensible and mature poster before people will start looking to you as a possible moderator.
Making a thread asking to be a moderator won't increase your chances, but expressing interest when the team are looking to recruit more moderators probably won't do your chances any harm.
You've just gotta be patient, contribute to the forum, wash a lot of cars and suck a lot of... well you get my drift.

I have been moderator on several different forums over the years and have never been paid. Probably small amount anyway.
