The need for new Admins, Moderators, or the Erasure of Feedback forum

Alrighty first of all, I NEVER ASKED TO BE A MOD! Never did anyone see my type "I'd make a good mod" or "I wanna be a mod" or "Hey would'nt it be nice to be a mod?" NO!

Alrighty now that is out of the way, lets just say I were to become a mod. I'd continue to post, continue to have fun, continue to keep the boards alive (not that I'm the only one doing so) I'm on here a lot, a lot more than anyone else, So I see a lot of stuff, type a lot of stuff, suggest a lot, and I try and help as much as I can. Again, I still enjoy the boards so i'm not super duper gotta be 100% business ALL THE TIME. I dont' think I've ever said/done anything to offend any of ya, cept for Rasta, ABC, Olah002, and SouthofHeaven, But all of us know we are all kidding so we crack on one another. So all of a sudden I'm a bad guy because someone said i'd make a decent mod? Wow...sounds like someone wants to be a mod a lot more than others. "Oh brian would'nt be a good mod, he jokes too much" I didnt do anything to get my name a bad rep around here. If you guys want me to stop posting just say so, no big deal to me, just that their are some cool people on here with great senses of humor (some more than others) and IMO I'd rather have a mod who spent too much time on the boards, rather than a mod who is never on the boards. So all in all, I'm not asking to be a mod, I'm not suggesting I be a mod, I'm not going to PM current mods and beg (*AHEM) nor will I cry if I dont become a mod, and I def. will not make dumb threads such as "I"M LEAVING!!!!" if I dont become a mod.

I will say this as well, If the people who we all know want to be mod (bout 3 of ya) I will lose respect for the whole mod team. I can't stand STAND people who kiss ass. The job should be given to someone (if anyone) who deserves it, not someone who begs for it, talks about it, etc.

Calm down you guys, don't make this personal. This is a legit thread I have made to adress certain issues we are facing day-to-day on the forums. I wouldn't want to see this thread that has more potential to be closed down because someone doesn't like someone.

I don't know about you guys, but I have been in many forums in different places. I've seen forums where they let you post snuff porn and call eachother racial slurs as if it were a petty insult like "stupid" or "dumb." I've also seen forums were the moderators are neo-nazi's that prey on any little mistake you make to ban you or piss you off. Overall though, I have noticed that most forum moderators are not in their position because they are likeable, but because they can get the job done. The problem right now is that the job is so big and saturated that it is not getting done.

When Omar and everyone built this site, it was a small community, but ever since the explosion of 360, there has been an unprecedented growth. Surely enough, this growth will not be the same after a 1 or 2 years. We will begin to see who are the forum usuals/lurkers/etc., and controlling some newbie will not be an issue as it is now. Nevertheless, we need more moderators/admins (Apparently this is not only my consensus but rather the general one) to make it through these times.

I was one of the people that brought Brian's name into the table to be moderator. I stand by my words. Quite honestly, Brian seems to be a good guy, but I haven't gotten to know him. What I have gotten to know in this time is the contribution to the forums which are not seen by many members. In the end, the job of a moderator should be to someone that can get the job done; Brian is that person. Honestly it doesn't matter if people like him or not as long as he doesn't become disrespectful, and I'm sure he'd assume a more serious role as would almost anyone in this forum if given the chance.

As for people begging for the job, that sucks, but I know a lot of people have been here a long time and think they deserve it. Also a lot of people are young and are used to getting their way. I don't mean to meddle in your affairs, but if you want some honest to God advice, "chill." I'm sure if or when the time to get a new mod arrives, people will be rated on their contribution value, so beging will only bring down value.

Now please, lets quit this "I don't like this guy because blah blah blah" because in forums it is not about popularity; it is about the job getting done. I can't stress that enough.

yeah, i think that brian would do a great job because he is on quite a lot and he also has a good bond with the most of us here. he would still be how he is now and some more. i think that he is the best candidate and i am sure he will enforce the rules if he becomes a mod.

Dude, there's no way of telling how he'll be once he gets that mod position. I'll tell you..I had been talking with Afro before he got his mods'manship, and he was totally cool..But then a month into it..He was changed so horribly bad..And I mean bad in a bad way..Not bad in a good way. I guess you have to be pretty strong-willed to be able to handle the privelages of becoming a mod.

As for you, Brian, nobody had ever said you wanted to become a mod. Show me where somebody even said there? Nowhere? Wow, I think I'm right. And see, I guess I could've put ''overreaction'' in the part where I thought you wouldn't make a good moderator. I'm not saying you shouldn't become one, because hell, a lot of people want you to be one; I'm just saying that, in my personal belief, you wouldn't make a good mod. And as for me becoming a mod..Yes, yes I would like to become a mod..But then I can also see that becoming a mod is a privelage, not a right; just because you're on the forums more, have more posts, and all this other stuff, doesn't mean that you'd be a better mod. Hell, you don't see me most of the time, because either: I'm on at school, I'm signed on as a GUEST at home, because I don't want to feel the need to post then, due to people's pointless posts..Or I'm signed on way later in the night, past midnight or so. So technically, I think I'm one of the few people who actually are on the forums nearly all day long!

Whenever the choosing for another mod comes around, and if I don't get picked..I'm not going to go all psycho over it. It just means that somebody is more qualified to become a mod than I am, and I'll just continue to show that I can actually be a worthy mod, until the next time comes around whenever Omar decides we need more. I never ''kissed ass'' to try and become a mod, nor will I ever do that. I don't pm asking to become a mod, I don't beg, I don't do any of this. I just try to show that I am worthy of that right.

As with that said, I think I'll quit stating my personal opinion, due to the fact that it'll start a big flamming war. Which is something that I definately don't want to happen. So yeah..

Man, we don't know if their are going to implement a new mod or not. So why argue over something like this? It's like your trying to compete with me in something I'm not in. I did'nt put my name in this, a lot of other members did. I don't see anyone else saying that they think you should be a mod, that alone should speak something for itself. As much as you think you'd be a good mod then why isn't anyone else saying so as well? Keep in mind, I never said "I wanna be a mod." My name was put in this by someone else, think about it.
