This site was mega super dooper shitty cooper slow. It seems OK now though.

I read a while ago that vBulletin is better for smaller sites, and that when sites go over 1million posts vBulletin starts to struggle a little without heavy optimisation. Whether thats true I dont know.

The DB for this site is gigantic. The bottom line problem we are experiencing though is not so much the server or this site, but that this site shares the server with too many other things. We are going to look at either moving some stuff off of the X3F server or buying a new server for X3F in the near future.

For now however, some of the things we did late last week seem to have improved load times significantly.

I can imagine! The database is probably huge!
You really do need your own server now though - I couldnt even get on the site earlier today for a few hours since it kept timing out....

The site is bloody terrible tonight. It keeps timing out on me or takes ages just to load a page. It was working good the last day or 2 but the old Mr slow mo has entered the room again.
