New mod annoucements
Shouldn't we announce new mod members on the annoucements page or the front page? I mean, Mr. Schmo is our new mod and I didn't even know until I saw his name after 10 minutes here. I think there should be a thread in the announcements place about new mods.

If you figured it out in 10 minutes, wouldn't that be quick enough? LOL

So far every mod since I've been a member of the site has had a "congrats" thread.

I haven't check that thread for a while and I doubt most of the forum will have seen the thread and the page that post was on. At least it was mentioned, but a public annoucement in the Announcement section would be nice.

Well understand that I view a lot of threads here and I go here everyday so I would of course find out and Mr. Schmo does have 3000 something posts and I go to sections that Schmo posts so I saw his name in blue, but not everyone will know that so I think an official announcement would be necessary to welcome the newest mod to the mod team and to tell everyone else who the lucky bastard who gets mod is/are.

Well chelsea lad, is a dumb then.
All you do is put your mouse cursor over a thread title & it tells you what the first couple of lines are!
So it would be obvious what the thread was about.
Not just that, why does it matter if members are not told who is & is not a mod. It shouldnt make any difference to them.

Unless they want to know who to be nice or nasty too.....

I agree with Diesel. It really shouldnt matter who is and who isnt a mod. Although it will attract the typical "you've changed so much" nonsense, everything should go on as normal, except the new mod obviously has some extra duty/responsibilities to the forum.
I dont see why there needs to be a huge fuss over a new mod, the usual welcome thread is more then enough.
