Use of Quotes **Please Read**

Ok i think the Forums would be much better with less of the quotes that are not needed, thought of some solutions that we can learn from as it prevents from spam, and useless text.

I would like this to be a sticky as this can be very helpful, and it keeps the Forums clean.

**Read along please**

1) When using the quote button, please try and trim the quotes to the bit that you are actually replying to, rather than posting the entire conversation over and over again.

2) Do not post just a quote. If you agree with what was said, then say so and add something.

3) There's normally no need to quote the person directly above you unless it's a particularly long post and you want to pick apart certain points raised and reply to them sequentially.

4) In picture threads, please try and trim the image out rather than having it in the quote. We've seen the picture already and we don't need to see it again to understand what you are talking about.

**Also think that mods should be trimming some posts that may fall foul of these**

Please, no spam on this thread, useful questions is accepted. Just like to help out and keep the forum clean and readable.

Usually i'll quote the whole thing and bold the bit i'm responding to, because a lot of the time if I just cut the part I want, it's out of context and doesn't make sense.

Yeah i see what you mean, putting the quotes into bold to point out what your explaining, but it would be helpful to pick out stuff like this for instance.

Here is the text made up.

"Dude that game was rubbish, no gameplay, no effect nothing. It was just useless nobody likes it."

The problem is that it takes a lot less time to just click the quote button and reply. There's no doubt that you're talking sense, but I just think you're gonna have a tough time talking people who've been forum surfing for years into doing all this.

Think if people can get used to it learn from it, it will be less arguments and you won't have to see quotes in every reply for no reason, and it can be useful to understand the conversation/situation.

Like i said no spam, and if that is what you want to do spam up threads with useless text/quotes for no reason, nobody will know what your coming across you will look like the fool not me. Its just helpful and it keeps the conversations simple to the point and understandable.
