Xbox LIVE is pretty pricey but as stated before, the experience is well worth it.

Thing is, when you first get a 360, and set up an account for yourself, you get 1 month free gold, and if after that you don't want to pay for it, don't.
Simple...
Or just get a 3 month sub, and then take it from there..
That's not breaking the bank, for the experience you get.

Yeah when the developers feel like shutting it down they can..
Third party developers who dont' want to have to mess with servers don't put online MP on their game.. That's why Sega didn't put online in the PS3 version of VF5 and Virtua Tennis..
Some third party developers have trouble setting up their online.. Look at COD4 PS3 Version...
People have to accept that it takes money for internet bandwidth, for server upkeep and setting everything up.. XBL is not the only one that charges for internet play.. Look at WoW which is $15 a month! Some other MMORPG you have to pay to play as well.. And like how others has pointed out the $40 a year I pay motivates M$ to improve the service and make it better!! I'm pretty sure if you guys weren't getting paid to do a job you would do a crappy job just like what Sony has done with PSN!! LOL.. |

It cost money so that MS can continue to provide you a great multiplayer experience with great features such as free demos, xbox live arcade, and xbox originals.
Who cares?? It only cost $50 a year (pretty cheap; if you ask me)

I agree, Xbox live arcade, and the initial demos is pretty much the same as try before you buy, download a game you think is good, and save pretty much 60 bucks on a game you don't like, and buy the game you do.

I have actually played with the PS3 and I have to say that the 360 blows the PS3 out the water. If it does have dedicated servers they might want to start thinking about upgrading already. Xbox live has only been down a handful of times that I have had it and I have been playing online with xbox live when I had the Original Xbox. Look at the specs before you actually start talking and just showing your ass...
