Controller Help

For some reason, sometimes, not always, when I push the guide button to turn the 360 on from my wireless controller, it doesn't go on. I can push the power button though. It is not a problem, just more of an inconvenience. Any solutions

PS the batteries are brand new

Yeah, it's done that to me before. It'll just sit there blinking all four lights, and the 360 stays asleep. Dunno why.
