lcd pc monitor for 360

since i cant afford a hdtv i am going to buy a lcd pc monitor and 360 vga cables. does anyone know whether this will be a better picture than my 27" standard tv using componet cables? if it s better i will go that if not i will just save for that hdtv. any feed back is welcome. thanks

an lcd momitor with vga cables would definately show an improvent in quality over a standard tv

If you can find a 17" or better widescreen monitor, you'll have an awesome picture.
Find something that's capable of 1360x768 resolution. It's the maximum resolution the 360 can run at.
If you can only go a standard LCD, the magical resolution for you is 1280x1024. Anything over 17" can run this resolution.

thanks but iam looking at widescreen lcds online at tigerdirect.com and the max resolution for them is 1440 x 900 but the 360 can only do 1360x768 will this monitor display 1360x768. i would prefer widescreen but i want to make sure it will display properly with the 360 and look good too

yes. but you may get lag because the tv has to transfer the picture into is native resolution

how likely is this lag? i have a 20.1" widescreen with native 1600x1050 resolutin on the way.
