Transfer files from 360 to pc

Hi,

I've done a lot of googling but I'm having trouble finding a definite answer to this question. I'd like to transfer game files (actually, the photos taken in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) from the Xbox hard drive to a PC, so I can post them on the web.

My 360 and PC are on different floors so I don't want a hardwire connection. I'm guessing the wireless networker could work, but it's too expensive for what I want to use it for. I'm looking for a sneakernet type solution.

I tried plugging a USB thumb drive into one of the controller-charger ports, and I could browse the directory but couldn't transfer game files to it. I've seen memory cards and USB connectors that attach them to PC's; is that the cheapest setup?

Also, assuming I get the files onto the PC, how can I decode the gallery file to get the pictures out?

Thanks in advance for helping a newbie.

thats the current only means of transfering data between the 360 and PC without moding a 360 memory card.

Thanks for the constructive answer, Sotonian Rebel.

BOOSTIN-SRT4, I think it's clear from my original post that I did my due diligence in trying to answer the question myself. If you felt like my question was a waste of time, why did you further waste your own time to type a useless response?
