yes, that's what it does. But you need another thing to transfer from PC to 360. (I'm preety sure, cuz that's why it's $30)

so from the responses no one has tried it yet?

would make things so much better long term... but i want to hear from some one thats using one at the moment before i get one and waste half a day pissing about with it only to find out its a bag of shite.

It's not a bag of shit, it's a great device. My friend Eric bought one along with NCAA 2007 so he could transfer his saved "action shots" from his 360 to the PC to show people online... It's quite the handle tool and the clarity of the transfer on screenshots is FLAWLESS... It's a beyond SOLID device, guaranteed.

is it easy to set up and configure?

and whats the deal with sending data to the xbox? do you need some more hardware or is the XSATA thing all that is needed?

you can connect the drive directly to your PC if you have Sata inputs anyway. You just need to open up the hard drive case.
This is just an adapter which means you don't have to pull apart the hard drive, but you're getting the same result.

I connect mine the manual way and use 360 Xplorer to copy and save files to the HDD. Pretty handy.

Once you get the adapter, use Xplorer from here
