Memory Card or Hard Drive

Hey i got a core Xbox 360 and obviously i cant save games without a memory card or external hard drive. I was wondering which one should i get. Should i get just a memory card just to save games or should i just get a hard drive. I was thinking about just getting a memory card because i dont have any old xbox games or is there something else the external hard drive does that is special.

Well its super storage, Xbox live needs it, as does the updates. It depends on how happy you are with JUST the games. I want live, and my mp3's on my xbox360 so i need to pick one up with my core.

yeah! i had a long think about this. even the first xbox had a certain number of gigabytes - the memory card has a lame 64mb - which goes to show that the 360 needs the 30gb. plus, there are some good old games out there which you may want. plus, the hd isnt that much more than the card!

well even if you cant at the moment you will very soon. remember M$ plans on selling 3 million of these guys in the first 3 months. a lot of those are cores which need that hd! hang on a wee while, maybe even get a memory card to keep you at ease. but theres no point just sticking with the memory card as xbox live is the soul of these things.

Hard drive is more expensive. If you don't need your Xbox 360 as a media center, you don't need it. Or, if you don't need that much space.

I would only get the memory card if I wanted to go to a friends house and play with my gamertag. And with the hard drive, theres backwards compatability! (halo 2)

its really down to how you use the 360! the hd is better if you want to play ye olde games, the memory stick should be fine for a long time. i am still a bit confused over what the hd really stores!!! is it needed for online???

yeah i'm pretty sure its needed for online. it will be able to store loads of game saves, extra maps, demos, music, and other downloadable content.

yeah? i heard of this really cool feature which involves the updating of posters in games. so, for example, in saints row there will be posters advertising new games around the city, and these posters will get updated every now and then!! pretty cool, huh?
