media center

hmmm i hope this goes here
has anyone done this i think it said it was possible to stream music and video from any XP based PC but toe stream everything it had to be a media center all i want to do is stream my mp3 files off my PC not my ipod cause if my ipod is by my 360 its not in my car and im listening to the radio also it might be nice to watch some WMV files on my 360
