Nyko charge station

i just bought the charge station for my controllers get it home and nothing the instructions say that when the lights red its charging when its green its fully charged and when its nothing its fully charged, mine isnt working do the batteries come completely dead and should i just let them charge no lights are on my charge station any help will be appreciated
