wireless controller + play n charge work on pc???

hi, i have a wireless controller for my xbox 360 and i would like to be able to use it as a game pad for my pc, i am aware that there is a usb device which plugs into your pc which enables you to use a wireless controller but as i am a cheapskate and i also have a play and charge kit i want to be able to use that, is it possible to use that for use with the pc. the way i look at it is that the play and charge kit turns the controller into a wired controller while the play and charge kit is plugged in. i have got the drivers off microsofts website any tried to get it to work but could. All i need is for someone to say it will definately work. Does anyone know?

Set up like that, no it will not work. The only known way to use a wireless pad with a PC is using the soon-to-be-released wireless controller adapter for the PC

Search the forum. It's been answered heaps of time. No, it doesn't work. Wired controllers only.

Anyone know how much the wireless controller adapter will be? If its more tham the price of a wired controller i dont really see the point.
